Martha Ann McGLONE was born about 1840, daughter of John & Hannah (AKERS) McGLONE. John was the brother of Sarah Isabelle (McGLONE) FRAKES, William’s mother, making William and Martha Ann 1st cousins. John McGLONE was the son of William and Mary “Polly” (STAGGS) McGLONE. She died 1880-84. She is buried at Friendship Baptist Church, Sullivan County, Indiana. William and Martha Ann had seven children.
Amanda COPPLE was born 9 Aug 1859, Farmersburg, Sullivan County, Indiana, daughter of Philip and Lucinda (MOORE) COPPLE. Philip was the son of Philip and Anna Patsy (WRIGHT) COPPLE. Amanda’s sister, Mahala Ann (COPPLE) HANGER was the mother of Corda HANGER FRAKES, who married Frank FRAKES, this chapter. Another sister, Mary Eliza COPPLE married Joseph A. McGLONE, brother of Martha Ann (McGLONE) FRAKES (See Chapter 13) Amanda’s first husband was John W. JULIAN, by whom she had two sons, Adva and Herschel JULIAN. Amanda and William had one son.

On 5 June 1919, Lem's World War 1 Draft Registration Card has, Lemuel Lester FRAKES age 25, born 6 Oct 1891, Sullivan County, Indiana. He was living in Farmersburg, Sullivan County, Indiana. He was a coal miner for Akin & Co., in Pimento, Vigo County, Indiana. He was single and supporting his mother and niece. Lem was medium height and build with gray eyes and light color hair.
On 7 Jan 1920, the census shows Lem FRAKES age 28 living in a boarding house in Detroit, Michigan. He was single. He was working in an auto factory.
On 5 Apr 1930, the census shows Lem FRAKES age 38 living in Orlando, Orange County, Florida. He was single. He was at a rooming house. He was superintendent of maintanance department of public schools.

Francis Marion “Chub” FRAKES, born about 1859, Vigo County, Indiana. Francis died 17 Aug 1891, Central Insane Asylum, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Burial in an unmarked grave at the asylum.
Chub married Hannah Margaret C. “Maggie” ARTHUR 3 Nov 1886, Vigo County, Indiana. She was born 1856, Green County, Indiana daughter of Joseph and Margaret (MINKS) ARTHUR, of Greene County, Indiana. Maggie died 17 Mar 1919, Richland Township, Monroe County, Indiana, at the age of 62 years. Her death record has her listed as Margaret H. Medaugh.
Chub was a farmer. He was once kicked by a mule, which caused a poor health condition for him.
In 1890 the census shows Chub and Maggie were living in Pimento, Vigo County, Indiana.
On 7 Mar 1891, Francis M. FRAKES a farmer of Vigo County, Indiana, age 32, was admitted to Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane - Department for Men. His wife was Margaret FRAKES of Pimento, Indiana. He was born in Indiana. His religion was H. S. Baptist. He was said to have been insane for 1 year before admittance. (Note: His condition was most likely a result of being kicked in the head by a mule.)
On 17 Aug 1891, Francis Marion FRAKES died at the Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane as a result of exhaustion from Epilepsey.
After the death of Chub, Maggie had to put her son, William, in Rose Orphanage in Terre Haute. She went to work as a housekeeper for a wealthy family in Terre Haute. They had a house high on a hill northwest of Terre Haute, Indiana. The people that she worked for said she was very nice and very intelligent. Maggie’s niece, Ella (ARTHUR) LILES of Forest, Ohio, said that her Aunt Maggie was one of the nicest persons she new. She said she was very easy going and she never said anything back to people even when they were not nice to her. Ella was the daughter of Peter Taylor ARTHUR, brother of Margaret’s.
Maggie married 2nd James MEDAUGH, 26 Jun 1897, Vigo County, Indiana. Her name is listed as Maggie Frakes when she married James. She had one son by James. She was evidently buried with James.
James would not let Maggie’s son, William, live with them. He had to remain in the orphanage.
On 23 Apr 1910, the census shows James H. (53) and Margaret K. (52) MEADAUGH living in Richland Township, Monroe County, Indiana. Also with them was their son Albert MEADAUGH age 11. They were living with Margaret's widowed nephew and family, Archibald BLAKE age 38 and children Clodie E. BLAKE age 9; Truban BLAKE age 6; and James H. BLAKE age 2. Also living there was Archibald's brother Aron BLAKE age 37. Everyone born in Indiana. Margaret had given birth to 3 children with 2 living. James H. and Archibald were both listed as farm laborers. They were renting their home.

Frank married Corda HAUGER Dec 1889. She was born Oct 1872, daughter of Jacob and Mahala Ann (COPPLE) HAUGER. Mahala Ann was the sister of Amanda who married Frank’s father. She died 5 Mar 1947, Farmersburg, Indiana.
Frank took his nephew, William Philip FRAKES (See Chapter 16) from the orphanage, only after he was old enough to work on the farm. He was very hard on him. Corda was a very nice, caring person and treated Willie like he was her own. After Uncle Frank died, Aunt Corda moved into Farmersburg. She rented the farm to a Bet and David.

He is survived by the wife, Ella; one son, Loren FRAKES, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. HALL and Mrs. Rosa RAILSBACK, both of Farmrsburg, and one half-brother, Lem FRAKES, of Orlando, Fla. The body was brought to the Wood Funeral Home where it will remain for funeral services at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery." (Note: The obit was also in the Wednesday, 19 Sep 1945 newspaper.)

Surviving are the widow, Anna Dare, and the mother, Mrs. Ella FRAKES, Farmersburg. The body will arrive in Farmersburg Sunday and will be taken to the Fidler & Wood Funeral Home where services will beheld at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. BARTHOL will officiat with burial in West Lawn cemetery."
